Our academic team is calling for partnership in joint project proposal development in the area of “Reforming of the metallurgy engineering education in Russia in the scope of Bologna process» in the frame of Council of Europe TEMPUS-IV program 2010 “Reform of Higher Education through International University Cooperation”.

The aim of the proposal is development of university cooperation in line with the thematic field “Curricular Reform” through development of additional qualification modular program targeted at both students of the metallurgy engineering from graduate courses and working professionals searching for further professional development. The proposal includes:

• development of the content of the curricular;
• development of teaching materials;
• E-learning.
  

These goals will be achieved by modernising existing curricula or developing of new ones focusing on strategic contents, innovative education technology (ICT, Problem-based Learning, development of critical thinking) and up-dated technologies.

There are five universities in the consortium already: Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk), National University of Science and Technology «MISIS» (Moscow), State university (Latvia, Riga), State Technical University (Irkutsk) and Royal Technical Institute of Technology (Kungl Tekniska Högskolan – KTH, Stockholm, Sweden). We urgently need the Coordinator/Contractor and. Now we are working on the project proposal and in a few days we will be able to mail a draft of the project proposal and the project workpackagess. They are oriented at modernization of the Bachelor’s program "Metallurgy". We are looking forward to receiving a prompt reply by February 20 in order to be able to compose the proposal, gather the Mandates from the participant universities (deadline is March 9).
